The Future Tenses (Futuro)

Spanish has two main ways to express the future: the "going to" plan, and the "will" decision.

In Everyday Spanish

Native speakers use ir + a + infinitive much more often in daily conversation. Learn it first, then move on to the simple future.

Most Common

1. Ir + a + Infinitive

Used for plans and intentions. Similar to "going to" in English. Use it when the future is already planned or expected.

2. Simple Future

Used for predictions, promises, and assumptions. Similar to "will" in English.
