Mastering irregular future verbs is much easier when you group them by their pattern. Below are the three main groups, followed by the most common and native-sounding daily expressions using these verbs.

1. The 3 Groups of Irregulars

Group 1: Drop the letters ce-ec

Remove extra letters (e, c) to form a short, punchy stem.

hacer har-

decir dir-

Group 2: Replace vowel with 'd'

Drop the vowel of the infinitive ending and add a 'd'.

tener + d tendr-

venir + d vendr-

poner + d pondr-

salir + d saldr-

valer + d valdr-

Group 3: Drop the vowel

Simply remove the 'e' from the infinitive ending.

poder podr-

haber habr-
